Key proessional milestones
Hendrik has over 15 years of experience in credit and commodity trade finance—a journey that has taken him from commodity markets to the banking sector. He began his career with a traditional apprenticeship at a German mining company, where he developed a fascination for global transactions, commodities, and financial flows. In 2006, Hendrik transitioned into the banking industry, joining UniCredit Bank AG in Munich and London. There, he gained deep expertise in commodity and project finance, playing a key role in structuring complex financing models for mining companies.
In 2014, Hendrik took on the leadership of a team of credit risk specialists in commodity trade finance at Credit Suisse. In this role, he was responsible for credit risk assessment and management of a large portfolio of commodity traders. He later moved to Sberbank Switzerland AG, initially serving as Head of Credit, where he played a crucial role in building the credit portfolio and developing and implementing the bank's risk management framework. Before joining MBaer Merchant Bank, Hendrik served as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at TradeXBank, where he led risk management and drove strategic developments in the credit sector.
