Key professional milestones
Entering the professional world
During high school, Joanna was able to gain her first professional experience through a temporary job at Confiserie Teuscher. After graduating from Kantonsschule Hottingen in 2018, she switched from sales to the world of gastronomy and worked for two summer seasons and one winter season at Pumpstation Gastro GmbH as a server during a gap year before her university studies. After the first semester of her studies, she got the chance to gain field experience for three months at Focus Water, a start up now bought up by Rivella. Also during her studies, Joanna completed an internship as a project manager in the start up area at the venture studio Haddock. In the last semester of her bachelor studies, she finally entered the banking world by starting this trainee program at MBaer Merchant Bank.
Year abroad in the United States
In 2015 during short-term high school, Joanna decided to take on a new challenge. She moved to Ohio, USA to live with a host family for 10 months and went to American High School, where she was a senior and completed her last year of high school with honors degree. Besides school, Joanna joined the swimming and tennis teams and participated in various competitions.
Volunteer Work
During high school, Joanna completed a volunteer assignment with the Swiss Red Cross, where she assisted children with homework and helped run a summer camp. She was also part of the student volunteer association IGNITE Movement at the University of St.Gallen, which focuses on purpose and employee-driven businesses. Shortly after joining, Joanna took on the position of Head of Events, organized weekly case studies, other events with various companies, and was part of the annual conference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Business Administration at the University of St.Gallen (HSG)
- High school diploma with focus on economics and law at the Kantonsschule Hottingen (Cantonal School Hottingen)
Joanna is fluent in German, English and French.
