Stefan joined MBaer Merchant Bank in March 2023.

He is responsible for supporting the Senior Bankers and Relationship Managers in the area of customer service and onboarding of new customers.

Key professional milestones

Establishment in the financial sector

Stefan worked at UBS in Zurich as a Client Manager, where he was responsible for supporting client advisors in wealth management from Affluent to Ultra High Net Worth clients located in Switzerland and Internationally. Stefan also interned at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Valuation & Transaction Advisory for real estate, where he prepared discounted cash flow valuations and conducted research assignments and client presentations related to transactional mandates.

Further he worked as a trainee at Deloitte in the Forensic Financial Advisory team, supporting first line of defense. This included reviewing the KYC of high risk clients in accordance with current legislation and bank internal AML guidelines. He also analyzed high risk transactions in accordance with applicable Swiss AML/CTF standards.

Starting his professional career

Stefan started his first job at Vicafe - a small Swiss café, where he was trained as a barista and learned how to pour a swan in the Flat White and put a smile on his customers' faces.

Professional Athlete

Prior to starting his studies and his professional career, Stefan was a professional swimmer for almost 15 years. He became multiple Swiss champion in the relay and participated in international competitions, such as the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) 2013 in Utrecht (NLD), the North Sea Swim Meet in Stavanger (NOR) and more.

Qualifications

  • Currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the HWZ in Zurich
  • Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English

Stefan is fluent in German and English and has good skills in French and Italian.
